Thank you so much for publishing this photo. My father, Daniel Joseph Cummins (Army No. NX 11167) served in the 2nd A.I.F. within the 2/11 Field Ambulance. He embarked on a troop ship in Sydney on 5/5/40 and disembarked at Gourock, Scotland on 19/6/40. He later served extensively in the Middle East before returning to Australia for further training at Canungra. To come across photos that capture the essence of my father's war-time experiences is for me a very moving experience.
